Sono nata il 27 gennaio del 1960, quindi fanno 66. 

Ma gli anni non mi pesano.

Invecchiando ho capito che la felicità è fatta di cose semplici: il sorriso al risveglio di un uomo che amo da 20 anni, una mattina tranquilla, uno spazio pulito, non fare tardi la sera, una casa sicura e persone che non consumano le mie energie. 

Non mi manca la gioventù che se ne è andata. 

Checché ne dicano alcuni pensando di offendere, la gamba va ancora lassù. 

Mi manca il mondo che quegli anni si sono portati via. 

Ci raccontano che la vita si è allungata. 

Sarà pure vero, ma a quale prezzo? Con quali rinunce? 

Non mi importa se passo per vecchia perché rimpiango il mondo della mia giovinezza. 

Quel mondo mi manca per davvero. 

Darei qualsiasi cosa per tornare a prima della insopportabile propaganda di sistema di adesso diffusa ovunque e in continuazione, a prima del doom-scrolling dei social e degli algoritmi creati per dividere. 

Il progresso tecnologico degli ultimi vent'anni è stato il grimaldello per polarizzare la società, dividere la famiglia, ridurre la politica a puro affarismo, trasformare ogni narcisista in un leone da tastiera che sfama il proprio ego con l'odio. 

Vorrei tornare ai giorni dei valori familiari, al senso di appartenza, all'importanza della deontologia professionale, della responsabilità individuale. 

Vorrei tornare a una scienza silenziosa lontana dai social e al servizio dei più deboli, non dei più ricchi. 

Questo oggi è il vero peso della mia vecchiaia. Non gli anni che ho, ma il mondo che non c'è più. 

Più che buon compleanno, serve la forza per resistere.
