The dystonia of the mâitre à penser of Italian journalism
Posted March 22th, 2017
The most repulsive and loathsome aspect of everything I have read these days in the Italian press, was to see a total dystonia by the entire elite of Italian journalism and without missing a beat, the Italian TV Star System, lining up against the closing of "Let's talk Saturday" (Parliamone Sabato) and a larger part of the Italian public entusiastic towards it's shut down.
I believe a question or two is necessary regarding the actual or real capability/wanting of this "self-referential celibacy" and "talk of interest" (concerned party), acting in on being the believable voice to the readers.
Well, worldwide, magazines and newspapers, UNANIMOUSLY criticized harshly their disapproval of this television show, without prepostrous "office backing", ridiculous conspiracy, demagogic "who throws the first stone is sinless" or childish distinction.
And, unfortunately, the rest of the world thinks differently and they treated these ruthless segments with merciless thoughts towards Italians.
Avail to all of the Latza Nadeau's articles in The Daily Beast, who under no circumstances gives any possiblilty for a retrial for the presenter and the writers, and emphasizes that the subject is treated the same way as the heinous German KKK (Kinder, Kùche, Kirche) of Hitler memories, but in this case without Religious connections.
In the same article, we are reminded that in 2017 Italy ranked in 50th for sexism in the World Economic Forum's Gender Gap Classification between 128 countries.
And she closes, asking herself: "But, what were the most publicized forms of protest threatened against the program? A sex strike à la Lysistrata, and a refusal to do the dishes?"
"What better proof that Italians may change the channel, but they have yet to change the way they think?"
My rough guess is that television is the mirror of it's country and that each and every country has what it deserves. This also goes to the "guru masters of thinking of Italian journalism.
